Born in Canada and raised in Vancouver, Botchar developed his rugby through high school before continuing at the University of British Columbia. He progressed through the Pacific Pride academy and represented Canada at the U20 level, building a strong foundation in the national pathway.
He continued his development with opportunities in New Zealand and domestic competitions, gaining experience across multiple systems. He earned his senior international debut for Canada and established himself as a physical forward with strong defensive output.
He began his Major League Rugby career with NOLA Gold, where he made an immediate impact across two seasons. He recorded over 100 tackles in his debut year and earned the Shawn Riley Heart of Gold award before joining the Seattle Seawolves ahead of the 2026 season.
Botchar represents Canada at the international level and credits his early rugby journey to family support. Outside of rugby, he enjoys gaming, coffee, and reading.
